SUNDAY NIGHTS AT SLINGER SUPER SPEEDWAY

Super Late model racing with Dad, Jon Reynolds “senior” on Sunday nights. Last Sunday (Fathers Day) Jon and I were on our way to the shop when the phone rings, its Senior, “we got problems.” Oh boy hopefully this is not how the whole day is going to go. Well turns out the weld on the hitch broke on Jon seniors truck with the trailer on the back or should I say on the ground now. It was at a slow rate of speed, we were lucky it didnt happen on our way to Slinger at 70 mph or so.

We have had a great X car from week to week at Slinger just alot of bad luck. Driver X finished 5th in the 75 lap Feature at “the worlds fastest quarter mile.”

ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY JUNE 18TH “FAST TIME”

It was in the air at the shop Saturday morning, “SPEED” you could smell it and taste it! It was in the driver too, he had a certian swagger by the afternoon that was un mistaken, rightfully so. It came out in practice, three laps and Driver X was confident (thats what we like). Qualifing came and “fast time” was set by the X Team.

Here comes the the roll and the pick for the dash position, in front of 6000 fans, “Jon would you like to take the challange and start at the back of the feature,” there is the swag I mentioned, “hell yes”. So here we go, green flag and Jon jr rips off the dash win to start the night. Heat race gets stuck in traffic ends up fifth.

Feature time, back start for the challange, “let er eat!” Jon was on a terror down low, passed the 55, 99 and 39 quickly. Getting toward the front now and its still early in the race when a slower car slides up high and the decides to come back down low in front of Jon of course then bringing him all the way to the back. With that Driver X poured it on and drove all the way back up to finish third.

Gearing up for the “2011 X Tour”

With the start of the 2011 season right around the corner, Jon and The X Team are gearing up for what will be one of the busiest season’s so far. There is well over 55 dates on the X schedule including, Limited Late Model, Big 8 Series Late Model and numerous Super Late Model Feature event’s.

Plans are being made, rebuilding is being done, expectation’s are high and we are all looking forward to what we are calling the “2011 X Tour” We will be posting date’s and time’s very soon where you can catch Jon and one or two of the X car’s.

Jon Reynolds, Jr. has had a wild start to the 2010 season, starting with a win and subsequent disqualification for a carb spacer issue in the Big 8 Series Spring Classic race at Rockford Speedway. Jon finished fifth in the Rockford season opener after working his way back to the front following a late-race spin, and came in ninth at the track’s second regular season race of the year.

“It’s been a rocky start but we’re finishing races and working hard,” says Jon. “This week we look to get the ball rolling with a top 3 finish.”

Jon and the X team are preparing for this Saturday’s event at the Rockford Speedway. Jon and Gregg McKarns will be appearing on the Stone and Double T show on 104.9 WXRX on Thursday, May 6th at 3:30 pm. Please tune in to listen or stream it live on the WXRX website.
